START-Grant for young people with mgration experience

Applications if possible from 01. February till15. March 2019

What is START?

START accompanies young people in their personal development for three years and encourages them to actively shape our society. Through a strong network; individual care; Financial support as well as events on topics such as intercultural competence, STEM and politics are being promoted. At the same time, the young people are encouraged to take on social commitment: Talents become doers!


Who is the START scholarship for?

Applicants can apply for all students who

  • themselves - or their father or mother - immigrated to Germany,
  • at least 14 years old,
  • at least three years in a German state (except Baden-Württemberg) go to a general or vocational school,
  • attend at least the ninth grade in the 2019/20 school year
  • Master German at least at GER-B1 level,
  • to actively shape our society and strengthen our democracy,
  • are ready for an intensive three-year education and engagement programme.
